Did you know that the small country of Greece has nearly as many miles of coastline as the U.S.A.? Most of these coastal regions are in Greece's hundreds of inhabited islands. Reaching their inhabitants with the gospel presents a special challenge to traditional mission strategies.
Beyond the Greek horizon, just across the water, lie Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, Israel, Egypt, the North African countries.... This area offers unique opportunities for effective outreach using boats.

The Strategy
HM's desire is to see evangelical churches planted in the Greek islands and in the adjoining Middle Eastern and North African nations. To accomplish this, we pursue a two-pronged strategy of mobilizing evangelism teams to selected islands and giving Greek believers the opportunity to reach out cross-culturally to their geographical neighbors.
What You Can Do
Hellenic Ministries is looking for praying, giving, and working partners:
* Pray for the work of discipleship and evangelism through maritime ministry.
* Give towards the cost of maintaining the vessel and expanding into new areas of outreach.
* Work together with us in maritime ministry to Greece and the eastern Mediterranean area. We invite dedicated volunteers, trained professionals and determined evangelists to partner with us in building God's kingdom.
Requirements for work participation:
Short-Term: Ability to work closely with a variety of people.
Specialized training/sailing experience an asset.
Long-Term: Same as above plus minimum two years of Bible school training.
